The notice affects the Dowra Public Water Supply close to the Leitrim border in Co Cavan.

Grid System Services Ltd had applied for a 10-year permission to develop the facility at Ballyoughter in Ballaghaderreen.

This was revealed at a public meeting in the Trinity Arts Centre last night, attended by over 100 people.

It comes following the allocation of over €100 million in funding for the National Parks and Wildlife Service for 2026.

Among the issues raised were dereliction, public realm works and social life.

Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan and Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly will attend the event.
