Future Cast CEO JJ O’Hara says it’s important to keep developing the town.

Deputy Carrigy says that Minister for Older People, Kieran O'Donnell and the older persons organisation within the HSE are not in favour of the service leaving Longford.

The week long series of events came to a close over the weekend, with 100s marching through Longford Town on Saturday in the Pride Parade.

Local Councillor Peggy Nolan is warning the HSE that the people of Longford will protest on the streets if the physiotherapy or any other service is taken from St Josephs.

The meeting has been rescheduled for next Monday when a new Cathaoirleach will also be elected.

It follows a series of events throughout County Roscommon, hosted by political initiative See Her Elected and Roscommon County Council.

There have been 802 in Longford, Roscommon and Mayo, along with 335 in Sligo-Leitrim.

Minister Alan Dillon confirmed that he will attend the opening of an expansion at Griffdon Engineering which will see 48 jobs created.
