Two brothers back in court today after being charged in connection with €2m drugs seizure

Around €2m worth of drugs were seized by Gardaí and Revenue officers last week in various locations which include Longford and Roscommon.

Two brothers are due back in court today after they were charged in connection with a major drugs seizure in the Shannonside region. Qasim Rasool and Ahsan Rasool both with an address at 4 Cloverwell, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, appeared before a special sitting of Longford District Court last Friday. They've both been charged with the "possession of drugs for the purpose of sale or supply" and the "possession of a controlled drug".

Around €2m worth of drugs were seized by Gardaí and Revenue officers last week in various locations which include Longford and Roscommon. On Friday, Judge Michael Connellan granted Qasim Rasool bail on his own bond of €5,000 whilst Ahsan Rasool was granted bail on his own bond of €4,000. Both were remanded in custody with consent to bail and are due to appear before Longford District Court later today.
