A voluntary lifeboat service is leading a recruitment drive for new volunteers this month. Lough Ree RNLI carries out rescue and recovery on the second largest lake on the River Shannon. The charity will host a series of information evenings next week to highlight its work.
They are encouraging local people to attend and volunteer their time to this worthy cause. Two open evenings will take place at 6.30pm next Tuesday and Thursday at the RNLI boathouse at Coosan Point. Lough Ree Lifeboat Press Officer Tom McGuire says there are many roles involved:
