Roscommon County Council says it will be monitoring traffic throughout Roscommon town as sections of the town centre are closed for public realm works.
The local authority has moved in to Phase 3 of the project, with the back of the Square closed to traffic. Signage is being put in place on the Lanesboro, Castlerea and Boyle approach roads to alert motorists to use the Circular Road to access the town centre.
Main street is accessible for motorists from Goff Street and Church Street only through to Castle Street and Lanesboro Street.
Access to shops and businesses on Main Street is being provided via off street car parks. This traffic management system will be in place until August.
Ciaran McAlery Senior Executive Engineer with Roscommon County Council says unfortunately disruption is inevitable.
