WRDTF rolls out alternative programme for people wishing to explore their drug and alcohol choices

People in the Shannonside Northern Sound region are being urged to consider a new approach to exploring their personal drug and alcohol use. The Western

People in the Shannonside Northern Sound region are being urged to consider a new approach to exploring their personal drug and alcohol use.

The Western Regional Drugs and Alcohol Task Force is seeking participants for the Prime for Life programme which is a 10 hour programme being delivered online.

The American model which has been amended for Irish participants and focuses on identifying and strengthening the values that are important to the participants and how these values may be impacted by their choices relating to alcohol/drug use.

It’s non-judgemental, with no labels, and operates on a very personal basis with no onus on people to share their individual circumstances.

Community Liason Worker with the WRDTF Liam McLaughlin says it works on asking people to assess their own choices and what they want to achieve for themselves.
