Those aged over the age of 85 will start receiving their Covid 19 vaccine from today.
They will receive the jab in either their local GP practice or in one of 40 vaccination centres nationwide.
Up to 80 thousand people in this age cohort will receive the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine over the next 3 weeks.
Meanwhile, a ban on indoor household visits and hospitality's set to remain under the government's updated Living With Covid plan.
The Irish Times reports its new strategy will focus on a phased return of schools and construction.
However it says restrictions could be eased to allow people to meet outdoors.
The draft plan has no dates for when reopening can begin, but May or June's being considered depending on the success of the vaccine rollout.
