Gardaí have confirmed that 71 people now died on Irish roads so far this year which is almost a third higher than the same time last year.

Leitrim and Longford are two of only four counties to avoid a fatal road traffic collision so far this year.

Roscommon has seen two fatal road traffic collisions so far in 2024.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, David Martin from the RSA says Gardaí caught someone speeding every four minutes over the Bank Holiday Weekend:
