Approximately 1,000 residences remain without power, five days on from Storm Isha, with further outages caused by Storm Jocelyn.

His call comes after over 230,000 people were left without power due to Storm Isha last Sunday.

There are approximately 1,200 people without electricity in each of the three Counties.

The restrictions cover Castlerea, Drumshanbo, Ballinamore, Mohill and Carrigallen.

People are urged to drive with care, with warnings that trees or power lines already weakened by Storm Isha could be blown down by Jocelyn.

The Shannonside region was among the worst hit by the storm

ESB crews are still working to restore power to thousands of homes across the Shannonside region this morning following Storm Isha.

Boyle, Ballaghaderreen and Arigna are some of the worst-affected areas where thousands of customers are still waiting for power to return.
