3,000 local residences still facing power outages from Storms Isha and Jocelyn

There are approximately 1,200 people without electricity in each of the three Counties.

Three and a half thousand local homes, farms and businesses are still without power this afternoon following this weeks storms.

The ESB says it may take a few more days before power is restored to all areas.

Nationally, 29 thousand customers are without power, after the double hit of Storms Jocelyn and Isha.

There are approximately 1,200 people without electricity in each of the three Counties.

North Longford, Athlone and the Boyle/Carrick on Shannon area are some of the worst affected areas locally.

Power is expected to be restored to many areas by tonight, with several hundred customers facing another 24 hours without electricity.

James Cambell is from Carrick on Shannon and has been without power since Sunday afternoon.

He's described the situation as extremely difficult:
