ESB Networks has deployed several engineering and repair teams, flown in from the UK, to tackle local power outages. Approximately 1,000 residences remain without power, five days on from Storm Isha, with further outages caused by Storm Jocelyn. Many areas across South Roscommon and South Longford have seen blanket restoration with Dozens of smaller outages recorded across Leitrim, Central Roscommon and North Longford.
Many rural areas could face another 24 hours without power as ESB crews tackle smaller localised faults. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, Siobhan Wynne from ESB Networks is hopeful that the majority of outages will be resolved by this evening:
