Sligo/Leitrim TD Marian Harkin has raised the issue of vaccination for teachers who have agreed to go back to teach in special needs schools from next week in the Dail today.
It follows the announcement this afternoon by the Education Minister that special needs pupils at primary level will be able to go back to school next week.
Speaking in the Dail earlier, the Independent TD says while she delighted for the parents and pupils involved, she's also conscious that many teachers are still very frightened of going back to the classrooms at the height of a pandemic.
Deputy Harkin asked if anything fundamental had changed since last week and if the Minister had considered making the Covid vaccine available to the teachers involved.
