Two thirds of bar and retail workers experience verbal abuse in their workplaces.
That's according to Mandate Trade Union, which is calling on employers to ensure staff are respected and fairly treated over the Christmas period.
The union is also demanding safe staffing levels to prevent burnout and protect workers from health and safety risks as shops become overcrowded.
