It takes over a year in some cases to get decisions on large planning applications.

An Bord Pleanala and Bord Na Mona had decided in recent weeks not to appeal against a High Court ruling which quashed the original planning application

Bord Na Mona will not pursue an appeal to a ruling against the development last year.

The planning application has been launched for the works.

The planned houses and apartments would be located off the existing Ard Michael Estate.
