Over €380,000 allocated for outdoor projects in Shannonside region

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys made the announcement today to develop and enhance over 150 outdoor recreation projects nationally.

Over €380,000 has been allocated for outdoor projects in the Shannonside region. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys made the announcement today to develop and enhance over 150 outdoor recreation projects nationally. Longford received the highest allocation of funding for projects from today's announcement with €180,000 for outdoor projects. Projects receiving €30,000 each include Derrycassin Woods Car Park, Leebeen Park Trail Enhancement and the Newcastle Woods Car Park.

Meanwhile, County Roscommon will receive €126,000 for outdoor projects in the county. Refurbishment works at Donamon and Upgrade and the enhancement works of trails at Palace Neighbourwood Park will both receive €30,000. Finally, projects in Leitrim will receive close to €80,000 worth of funding. The Lough Rinn and Cappagh Trails and the Farnaught Walking Trail will both receive over €20,000 for their respective developments.
