Over 700 vehicles have been registered for the first time across the Shannonside region in the month of March.
The findings come from a recent CSO report. The CSO provided a break-down of the number of vehicles licensed for the first time in March by licensing authority and type.
In the Shannonside region, most registrations took place in Co. Roscommon, with 631 cars licensed last month.
This is followed by Co. Leitrim, where 57 cars were registered for the first time in March.
Co. Longford held the lowest figure in the region at 52 licensed vehicles last month.
In total, 740 cars were registered for the first time in the Shannonside region in the month of March.
Out of these, 30 were electric vehicles. Nationally, 13,388 cars were licensed for the first time in March, a decrease of 4% when compared with the same period in 2024.
While the number of new electric vehicles licensed in March rose by 31% since the same time last year.
Toyota was the most popular car make registered last month.
