Almost 49-thousand people have received at least one Pandemic Unemployment Payment across the Shannonside Northern Sound region since it was introduced just over a year ago.
As of Tuesday this week, almost 24-thousand people across the Shannonside Northern Sound region were in receipt of the PUP.
However, just under 49-thousand people have received at least one payment. 13,924 people have received at least one payment in Cavan, while 6,643 people received the payment this week in the county.
In Monaghan, 12,730 people have received the PUP at least once, with 5,988 people in receipt of the PUP this week. In the Shannonside region, 10,425 people have received the payment at least once in Roscommon, with 5,299 receiving it this week.
Across Longford, 6,394 people have received at least one payment, while 3,093 were in receipt of the PUP this week.
Leitrim is the county with the fewest number on the payment - 5,357 people have received it at least once, while 2,812 received it this week.
The Social Protection Minister, Heather Humphreys, says the PUP has protected hundreds of thousands of workers from a sudden shock to their incomes.
