Over 1000 electric cars registered locally this March

Over 1000 new electric cars were registered in the Shannonside region for March this year.

It comes as figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show new electric vehicles registered for March.

According to the latest figures from the society, 1,063 new electric cars were registered across the Shannonside region in the last month.

Longford had 264 new registrations, a small decrease from 288 in the previous year.

211 new cars were registered in Leitrim, up from 203 in March 2022.

While 588 were registered in Roscommon, a marginal increase from 511.

New car registrations for the month of March were up 37% when compared to March 2022 .

Registrations for the year to date are up 16.5% on the same period last year.
