NPHET has announced 584 new Covid cases and 20 more deaths

The latest Covid figures released today are not giving much cause for hope that Level 5 restrictions will be eased in the coming weeks.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 20 additional deaths related to Covid.

Of the deaths reported today, 11 occurred in March, 3 in February and 6 in January.

As of midnight, Thursday 25th March, the HPSC has been notified of 584 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Of the latest cases notified, 222 are  in Dublin, 44 in Kildare, 33 in Offaly, 31 in Meath, 29 in Westmeath and the remaining 225 cases are spread across 19 other counties.

Roscommon has 10 new cases, Longford has 7, and none have been recorded for Leitrim over the past 24 hours.

As of 8am today, 317 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised.67 people are being treated  in ICU's for Covid today.There have been 25 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
