A new weather warning for high temperatures has been issued for counties across the Shannonside region.
A status yellow alert for 20 counties, including Longford and all of Connacht, comes into effect at 12 noon tomorrow, until 6 o'clock on Friday morning.
A similar warning is in effect for six counties in the west, which expires at 7am tomorrow.
