The N5 between Strokestown and Longford has re-opened following a fatal collision this morning.
A man died after the collision near Scramgoue in Roscommon.
The collision occurred between a pedestrian in his 30s and a car on the N5 shortly after 5am on a stretch of the N5 on the Longford side of Strokestown.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The driver of the car was removed by Ambulance to University Hospital Sligo, his injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
The road was closed for some time while a forensic examination was carried out.
