The Minister for Heritage says an assessment report is ongoing following fires in West Roscommon earlier this year. Hundreds of thousands of euro worth of forestry was destroyed in Gortaganny and Carrowbehy in May.

However, Minister O'Sullivan says any potential compensation for land owners falls under the remit of Forestry Minister Michael Healy-Rae:
