Mandatory hotel quarantine has come into effect for all passengers arriving into Ireland from 33 countries deemed "high risk" for Covid-19 transmission.
Travellers are required to book a 12-night stay from a selection of hotels.
However, this could be reduced if a person receives a negative Covid-19 test on day ten of quarantine.
Passengers arriving into Ireland without a negative PCR result will also be required to quarantine.
The Tifco Hotel Group has signed the contract for the system, with the Crowne Plaza at Dublin Airport the first to be used.
