A man is to appear at Longford District Court today on charges related to the theft of a digger from the outskirts of the town in recent days.
The digger was being used in ongoing works on the Ardagh road outside the town and it was reported stolen at the weekend.
It's understood the machinery was subsequently discovered hidden in trees on farmland a short distance away.

A man in his late 30's was arrested yesterday evening in relation to the incident and is due to appear in court today.
