A man appeared at a special sitting of Longford District Court this afternoon on charges relating to an incident involving an ISPCA official yesterday.
The official had called to the house to inspect the welfare of animals there.
They were allegedly threatened by the male occupant of the house who was said to have brandished weapons at the same time.

A search warrant was obtained and executed at the address this morning when items of interest to the investigation were seized.
A man was arrested at the scene and appeared at a special court sitting this afternoon.
He was remanded on bail and a file is being sent to the DPP.
