A Longford Senator is to host a virtual public consultation today to discuss reforms needed to the Susi grant.
The Student Universal Support Ireland grant is the main financial support scheme for students studying in Ireland.
The scheme has come under fire in recent years over claims it has not adapted to the changing needs of students since its creation in 2011.
The department of Education has committed to a reform of the support, with Minister for Higher Education Simpon Harris launching an independent report into possible changes needed.
Today's meeting is being hosted by Longford Fine Gael Senator Micheál Carrigy and will include an address from Minister Harris.
