Two local candidates have expressed dismay after a number of their election posters were found to be defaced in recent days.
Graffiti was daubed on posters belonging to Roscommon's Irish Freedom Party candidate Justin Slamen and Longford People Before Profit hopeful Dave Smyth.
Mr Slamen claimed the act of vandalism was further proof Hate Speech Laws won't work, adding that he had no hate for anyone and loved his country.

Dave Smyth, meanwhile, described the vandalism as immature, pathetic, and a criminal offence and appeared to point the finger at those aligned to the Far Right.
He added he was happy to debate with anyone and called on those responsible to allow the democratic process to take its course.
