The Bishop of Kilmore says the decreasing number of priests in the diocese is now a reality. It was announced recently that a priest has now been appointed to two parishes which has not previously happened before in the diocese.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, the Bishop of Kilmore, Martin Hayes says there has only been 8 ordinations and 4 incardinations in the past 24 years. Bishop Hayes also believes that a rethink may be needed regarding weekend mass in parishes going forward:
