Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny has welcomed clarification that nursing homes which have had positive Covid cases won't be excluded from the vaccine rollout.
He said there had been concerns that some nursing homes would be left out but he says his party has been assured this isn't the case, and that vaccinations will take place at all nursing homes with extra precautions being taken on sites where there are positive Covid cases.
The Sinn Fein TD says his party's health spokesperson has also been told says that vaccinations will be happening on a 7 day per week basis in nursing homes, instead of the original plan for a five day week operation.
