It's been confirmed this morning that a well known hotel in Leitrim Village will not be used as an IPAS centre. The Department of Integration had been considering accommodating international-protection applicants in the Leitrim Marina Hotel following an offer from the owners. The move triggered a major backlash from locals who highlighted their concerns over the impact of the move.
Minister Marian Harkin has now confirmed that the Department of Integration will not be using the hotel as an IPAS centre.
