A Leitrim comedian believes RTE should remove a controversial sketch it aired on New Year's Eve that was condemned by head of the Catholic Church as 'blasphemous'

RTE has received thousands of complaints after a sketch produced by Waterford Whispers depicted God as a rapist.

Former news broadcaster Aengus MaGrianna apologised yesterday for his role in the sketch, while RTE has also offered an apology for the segment.

The programme remains available on the RTE Player with a warning, despite calls for it to be removed.

Catherine Lynch, who runs her own TV production company told the Joe Finnegan Show, that removing the clip is the right thing to do :
