Latest trolley figures show no serious overcrowding at local hospitals

There are 18 people on trolleys waiting to be admitted to Tullamore hospital according to the latest figures provided by the Irish Nurses and Midwives

There are 18 people on trolleys waiting to be admitted to Tullamore hospital according to the latest figures provided by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

13 people are waiting for admission to Sligo hospital and 12 are on trolleys at the emergency department at Portiuncula hospital this morning.

There are 4 people waiting on trolleys in the ED at Mullingar hospital.

Two people are waiting for admission to University Hospital Galway.

Meanwhile a member of the National Public Health Emergency Team has warned there's still "much to worry about" with the current spread of Covid 19.

There are 43 people with the virus in intensive care as of last night, the highest figure since the end of May.

However, the number of patients in hospital this morning has fallen slightly to 327.

Colm Henry, Chief Clinical Officer with the HSE, says they're still concerned based on what's happening in other European countries, and he says our health system is only three or four weeks away from becoming overwhelmed by the virus at any one time.
