The Shannonside region accounted for just under 8 percent of the total amount of funds paid out through the Government's Restart and Restart Plus Covid-19 support schemes.
Close to 38 million euro from the two grants was provided to businesses across the five counties, out of 627 million euro of payments nationwide.
The support is designed to aid small businesses in keeping open or who are reopening during the pandemic by supporting them to manage costs and retain employees.
Small enterprises in Cavan received the highest allocation locally, with 10.2 million euro awarded to applicants.
That was followed closely by Monaghan businesses who claimed 9.2 million euro in payments.
Roscommon and Longford received smaller slices of the grant at 6.5 and 4.2 million euro respectively.
While Leitrim received the lowest allocation nationwide at just over 4 million euro for businesses struggling with pandemic related costs.
