Latest figures show grants paid out to support local businesses

The Shannonside region accounted for just under 8 percent of the total amount of funds paid out through the Government's Restart and Restart Plus Covid-19 support schemes.

Close to 38 million euro from the two grants was provided to businesses across the five counties, out of 627 million euro of payments nationwide.

The support is designed to aid small businesses in keeping open or who are reopening during the pandemic by supporting them to manage costs and retain employees.
