One of the organisers of Saturday's major Mercosur protest in Athlone says the deal can still be stopped.
MEP Ciaran Mullooly was speaking after a petition signed by more than 30 thousand people opposing the deal was delivered in Brussels today.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyden plans to travel to South America this month to sign the agreement.

It comes as member states voted in favour of the deal last Friday, 24 hours before the Independent Ireland protest in Athlone.
