A historic sign has been returned to a protected structure in Roscommon Town after it disappeared earlier this week.
The old sign from the gate into the back of the now former post office in Roscommon had been removed from it's place, leading to an appeal for its return.
The sign has been in place for at least 70 years and is thought to have been removed and reattached from an older gate on its replacement in the 1970s.
The sign reads 'ná moilltear - NO PARKING' and was located on the gate at the rear of the historic building.
Roscommon post office closed their doors at their historic location after over 100 years last month and reopened in Fleming's SuperValu on Main Street a week later.
Martin Dunne from Roscommon Town Heritage says it's great that the sign is back safe with the proper owners.
