The reopening of the R361 between Frenchpark and Castlerea has further been delayed. Motorists were previously advised that the road was to be closed until November 3rd to facilitate the N5 project. However, Roscommon County Council has confirmed in a statement that the road is set to re-open on Friday, November 14th. The decision was made to enable essential roadworks that are necessary for the safe execution of works due. Cllr Seán Moylan is appealing to those using the alternative routes to do so safely:
