Over 5 million euro has been allocated to youth funding projects across the four education training boards in the Shannonside area.
The funds are part of national grants of over 67 million euro announced today by Children's Minister Roderic O'Gorman.
The grants will support youth services and clubs while also developing universal service provision in education boards across the country.
12 million euro of the allocation has also been ringfenced for 30 national youth organisations including Foróige, Youth Works Ireland and the National Youth Council of Ireland.
The Galway Roscommon Education Training Board has received the highest allocation in the region of almost two and a half million euro.
The Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB are next on the list locally with close to 900 thousand euro for youth projects.
That's followed by Cavan and Monaghan ETB and Longford and Westmeath ETB who have received 857 thousand euro and 842 thousand euro respectively.
Roscommon Councillor and GRETB Vice Chair Kathleen Shanagher says the funding will help vulnerable children across the region.
