There's been renewed calls for catering services to return on local train journeys. In August, Irish Rail said it was working to find a preferred supplier in order to restore the services. However, NTA representatives confirmed earlier this month that no such funding is available. The tea trolley has made a comeback in some parts of the country, following its withdrawal at the start of the Covid pandemic. Local Labour Senator, Nessa Cosgrove remains unconvinced:
