Footfall down in Frenchpark since opening of new N5 project

A 7km section of the major road project was opened by Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien earlier this year.

Footfall is reported to still be down in Frenchpark in recent weeks due to the opening of a section of the new N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue.
A 7km section of the major road project was opened by Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien earlier this year.

Frenchpark, Ballinagare, Tulsk and Strokestown will all be bypassed once the road is fully completed.
Fine Gael Cllr Liam Callaghan says whilst a drop in footfall is concerning, he expects it to change in the coming months:
