The number of people in Longford, Roscommon and Leitrim in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment payment is increasing.
Figures from the Department of Social Protection show a jump of 1,600 people claiming the payment in the three counties in the last week.
Nationally, figures receiving the Pandemic Unemployment Payment are up over 15 per cent, with 460 thousand people claiming the P.U.P.
In Roscommon, the figure has increased from 4,000 people in receipt of the support last week to 4,775 receiving it today.
In Longford, 497 people have signed onto the P.U.P. in the last week, up from 2,711 last week to 3,208 today.
While in Leitrim, 336 workers have had applications granted in the last week, with a total of 2,668 people now in receipt of the payment.
Nationally, almost 62 thousand people were added to the support this week with the Department of Social Protection paying out a total of 138 million euro in payments.
