Leitrim County Council has facilitated the payment of over €3 million euro in Restart Grants to businesses around the county over the last three months.
And businesses who received payments under the original restart grant process will also be in line to receive a 30 per cent top up grant next week.
That's what emerged at this month's meeting of Ballinamore Municipal District where Director of Services for Finance Vincent Dwyer praised the work of his colleague Sinead Flynn and the Restart Grants team.
The payments have reached some 800 businesses around the county - which he says represents almost half of Leitrim's ratepayers.
Meanwhile, the local authority is urging business owners who haven't yet completed their applications for Restart Plus to do so before the closing deadline of midnight on Saturday.
Separately, top up grants are expected to reach business owners next week.
Cllr Enda McGloin says these payments are a welcome boost to businesses in this challenging time of uncertainty.
