The Deputy CEO of Longford Women's link says people living in fear of domestic violence should be reassured they can get help during the coming weeks.
Tara Farrell says the numbers of women looking for help increased significantly during our first lockdown earlier this year and there's a strong awareness that the Covid restrictions can make things even more difficult.
Longford Women's Link is open Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 if people want to contact them about domestic violence, and Women's Aid run a 24 hour national Freephone Helpline at 1800 341 900.
Tara Farrell says they've seen the numbers of people seeking help continue to rise over recent months, and she wants people to also be aware that a new garda unit has been established locally to focus on the issue as well.
