Roscommon had the most applications approved at 23 while Leitrim had 20.

Roscommon had the most planning permission granted at 25.

The issue was raised at a council meeting this week.

This included 1,639 families.

Nationally, a total of 8,323 people were without permanent accomodation in January, an increase from 8,190 in December

The number of homeless nationally increased to 8,048, while the Shannonside region experienced a marginal decrease.

In 2022, the Department allocated a national fund of 25 million euro to be made available to local authorities across the country for the remediation of 2,273. Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon received funding for just 104 of these homes out of the national total
