A local councillor has called on An Post to issue details of their plans for Carrick on Shannon post office. Independent councillor Des Guckian brought the motion forward at the last Carrick on Shannon Municipal district meeting.
His call comes following the recent announcement that Roscommon Post office will be run by a contractor and most likely move from its current location on The Square in Roscommon town. Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Cllr Guckian said he doesn't agree with the proposals An Post are implementing across the country:
