Brendan Guickan has been appointed Leitrim Under-20 manager for the 2021 season with Adrian Dockery taking over the minor team.
Guickan a former Leitrim senior team manager was most recently at the helm of Leitrim Under-17’s in 2020, and previous to that was Leitrim senior team Manager in 2017 and 2018.
A Connacht senior championship medallist in 1994, will be assisted in his role by the members of last year’s minor management team, including Emlyn Mulligan, Jimmy Guckian, Enda Lyons, Kevin Ludlow, Alan Doonan, Philip Howard, Ronan O Rourke and Brian Blake.
With Guickan being promoted to Under-20 manager Leitrim GAA announced the appointment of former Roscommon player Adrian Dockery as the U17 minor team manager for 2021.
Dockery was previously senior team manager of Shannon Gaels and Roscommon Under-21s, he has more recently been involved with the management team of the Ballinamore Sean O Heslin’s senior team which reached the 2019 Leitrim SFC final, and as joint manager of the St. Joseph’s ladies senior team in 2020.
Leitrim Under-20’s are set to meet Roscommon in the Connacht quarter-final on Saturday April third, with the winners to meet Sligo on April 10th. The Connacht final is pencilled in for April 16/17.
The Leitrim minor team are set to face Sligo in the Connacht semi-final on Friday April 9th with the final set for Friday April 30th.
