The Bishop of Elphin has condemned the sense of individualism amongst some of the population as the cause of the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions.

In a tweet posted last night, Bishop Kevin Doran called for health restrictions governing attendance limits of funerals to be expanded.

Current Covid-19 guidelines allow 10 people to attend a funeral, with Bishop Doran calling for it to be increased to 25.

He says while there are a small number of cases where large crowds attend funerals, churches can easily support 25 people to safely attend a funeral.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, Bishop Doran says those ignoring the rules are causing physical and emotional damage to the rest of the population.
