Axe seized in Abbeylara following alleged threats to women in Longford last week

An axe was seized at an address in Abbeylara today after gardai obtained a search warrant at Longford District Court.

It follows an incident in the Teffia Park area of Longford on Wednesday evening of last ween when a man is alleged to have gotten out of a car and brandished a slash-hook , threatening three women who were walking in the area.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident on last Wednesday evening to contact them at Longford garda station on 043-33-57070.
