Planning permission for a housing development on the outskirts of Ballymahon is being appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
Conditional permission was granted last month by Longford County Council for 82 houses, apartments and a crèche to be built on an 11 acre site on the Moigh road.
Planning permission had been granted but subsequently expired for the site several years ago.
The council had attached 18 conditions to the permission including that the developers put in their own waste water treatment plant.
A large number of submissions from residents in the area had opposed the development.
An Bord Pleanala now has until the beginning of March next year to make a decision on the scheme.
