Tributes are being paid to a popular former Shannonside Northern Sound presenter who passed away today. Carthage Kidney from Co. Offaly, was one of the first presenters on the station in 1989 and was seen as a pioneer in showcasing local artists and songwriters.
His show on Sunday's was listened to by thousands, both at home and abroad. His funeral mass is taking place in St. Carthage's Church, Killina, Co. Offaly on Friday at 10am with burial taking place afterwards in Rahan Cemetery.
