The new Cathaoirleach of Longford Municipal District says today is one of the proudest days of his life.
Cllr Kevin Hussey was proposed by Cllr Seamus Butler and seconded by Cllr Martin Monaghan this afternoon.
The Fianna Fail councillor was first elected to Longford County Council in 2024.

Cllr Martin Monaghan was elected as Leas Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District.
In an emotional address to members, Cllr Hussey thanked his family who were in attendance and said it was time to focus on the positives Longford had to offer.
